Munich's Top English-Speaking Vet.

The language barrier in Munich is very large if you are not yet speaking German fluently. Trust me, I know. I find though, even when I can say what I need to say in German that I prefer to handle any sort of medical care, for my family, myself, and my pets in my mother tongue. A lot of the German medical terminology I have never heard before and I end up spending more time thinking about what a word means instead of actually being able to have an in-depth back-and-forth conversation about my concerns. So you guessed it, after a lot of searching, I have found Munich's Top English-Speaking Vet, the Veterinary Practice of Dr. Cornelia Maul und Dr. Sabine Herget.

A brown and white Cocker Spaniel dog is being treated by a vet.

Their practice offers so much, especially for us English-speaking expats who have brought our pets with us to Munich. We have been taking our dog and cat to them for two years now so this recommendation comes with a history of great service. This post is also not sponsored at all, I just really, really like them. Their practice is located near the Deutsches Museum at Schwarzstraße 3 / Entrance Lilienstraße, 81669, Munich.

Things I love about their practice:

  • Everyone speaks English. Often I have found in Munich, that even when English service is offered, that it's just the doctors who assist in English. At this practice, they really have made an effort to make English-speaking foreigners feel comfortable.

  • They offer a very wide range of services. From regular visits, x-rays, vaccinations, senior pet care, and nail clippings to teeth cleaning under general anesthesia, to name a few. We had our dog have her teeth cleaned and some teeth removed with them, right in the practice. Even though the procedure required her to be under general anesthesia, they handled everything on-site. We dropped her off in the morning and collected her later that day. They were incredibly kind, letting me stay with Bella until she went under, explained everything thoroughly, and gave her great aftercare. The whole experience was better for their service. • You can schedule an appointment online here, and they have a very user-friendly app where, once you are in their system, you can register your pets and book appointments.

  • In an emergency, if you are unsure about whether or not your pet needs to go in, you can just call and ask, their number is (089) 99 95 20 10.

In summary, the Veterinary Practice of Dr. Cornelia Maul und Dr. Sabine Herget is really fantastic, they offer a wide range of services and have an amazing team of people ready to help you and your pet adjust to life in Munich.
