THE INDEPENDENT EXPAT

Over the past four years living as a South African expat in Germany, I have spent countless hours searching for solutions to a wide range of problems I have had since we moved here. Simply put, learning to live in Germany is difficult.

I do not now, nor have I ever, had a lot of time or energy to scroll for hours through long reviews to find what I need. Give me the important bits of information and the rest I will figure out for myself. I wish I was the woman who had the capacity to read the 8-page preface and the 3-page introduction to making your amazing Tuscan chicken Janice, but I just don't. I am the "skip to the recipe" button clicker who needs a good picture, a brief instruction guide, and the ability to turn those measurements into metric.

That said, I hope that I can save you some time, energy, and bureaucratical angst, (which comes by the truckload in Germany), by sharing with you my favorite helpful products, services, and tips for how to live in Munich and actually enjoy it.
